It all started in Chiang Rai, Thailand, a highland city with a rich history of coffee farming and cultivating. In 2018, Fynn Hlaing returned to her native homeland, after more than 30 years of living in California’s San Francisco Bay Area.

Fynn was educated and trained as a computer engineer and held positions at tech companies in Silicon Valley, including amazon.com,Inc. Through her travels around the world, she tasted and tried different styles of coffee and was in search of the perfect cup of rich, intense, and creamy coffee in Thailand.  That is how De Nae was born, Fynn combined her San Francisco style with her well-balanced and engineered roasts.

At De Nae, we believe that a good day starts with a perfect cup of coffee. We combined Fynn’s expertise in product engineering and with her family background in coffee farming to create a new taste of coffee, infusing traditional authentic coffee with a touch of San Franciscan coffee culture. We dedicate time and attention to each step of selecting the perfect coffee plants and beans before they goes into your cup. All phases of coffee production are watched by experts and are subject to multiple inspections. The beans are sun-dried, decorticated and locally roasted to perfection.

In 2020, Fynn moved to Yangon with her husband and expanded her love of coffee to explore coffee beans from Shan State, Myanmar. She then created a house blend “Twin Peaks” using the very best beans from Myanmar and Thailand.
